Giving back — Mentorship offer

I’ve been fortunate enough to find product management as a career I love, and grow into a leader along the way. As I think more about my purpose in life, I hope to give back more. I enjoy building meaningful connections, and in 2021 my goal is to spend a few hours a month helping people grow.

A bit about myself:

  • Currently head of product for Amazon Last Mile Core Driver Experience. We recently delivered our 10 billionth package since launching over 5 years ago. Prior to Amazon, I was at Redfin leading consumer-facing products.
  • Experience building and leading in large (Amazon, Google), medium (Redfin), and small (series B — Sosh, acquired by Postmates) companies.
  • Ex-engineer. Grew up in Taiwan. Enjoy rituals.

Areas of expertise, often learned via mistakes

  • Product development and strategy (0–1, 1-n)
  • Consumer-facing products, esp verticals with physical operation
  • Build high-performing teams, turnaround scenarios, and raising the bar
  • Build and communicate conviction. Identify what’s holding you back and let go of that.
  • Influence broadly.
  • Move pass unproductive and lingering emotions

If you think you might benefit from chatting with me, sign-up here.

If I get more interest than the time I can provide, I’ll prioritize by:

  • People I think I can make an outsized impact on(e.g. under represented group, people looking for a change/stuck in a place)
  • People I think I can learn new things from — it can be interesting background (to me), industries I want to learn more about

Once there’s a match, you’ll get a calendly link to schedule a time. I look forward to trying out this experiment, helping people grow, and getting feedback on the process.
